MashPit Minsk. October 2009
Why we decided to organize it? Yes, honestly, I can not tell you. Approaching the second Belarusian barcamp (the date of which has not yet determined), autumn, someone is boring, and someone wants to total obstruction and diversity. In general, an experiment does not hurt.
I do not know what will happen, because TOR itself, we will have to write during the event. But one thing I know for sure - we will do very useful work, arranging sprint on signing the objects Minsk on Google Maps. So far, according to the cartographer, map of Minsk is not quite priglyadnom as is.
And if we are developers and muddied the case in the interface (and maybe even mobile) - it will be something unimaginable!
The essence here is not in the project. The point is that we move away from stereotypes and the eternal "blah blah", saying that good and useful projects can be done in such a short time. Hate rassusolivaniya. Yes, and "presentation" had podnadoeli.
Let's see what we are capable of «IT-guys»:)
MashPit - Event, where participants combine modern technology and receive the new product. Actually, the name speaks for itself: «mash» (mix, mix, combine), and «pit» (pit).
MashPit - an event which grew out of barcamp. The ideology has remained self-organization, exchange of experience and contacts, informal atmosphere. But has appeared a clear goal - to get a specific product that you can touch, see and use not only for their own needs, but that would be useful to someone else.
The product, which is obtained at the output, called the mash - up. This is a separate, independent project, which could become very successful on the web. For example, Mashups based Googlemaps: Flickr Map, Hotspotr, Twittervision, etc.
MashPit - Event for which you creative idea, a premise, access to the network, several specialists in different fields, food, and 24 or 48 hours (depending on the complexity of the project) continuous and hard work aimed at achieving results.
Technology MashPit was devised and tested by Chris Messina (Chris Messina) and "patented" to them as «community mark» (a term which he himself invented). This means that the name, logo, and all the technology can be used by anyone without restriction, subject to its preservation in its original form. By the way, precisely because of these limitations, we can not use the term HackDay, which is owned by Yahoo!
Our team begins a series MashPits in Belarus and hopes that the event would be popular among the Belarusians, and most importantly, useful Bynet.
